Mindful Resolutions for 2019

Mindful Resolutions for 2019

Are you the type to make New Year’s Resolutions? Change is a good thing and if the new year ahead is the push you need to make that change, bring on the resolutions! We're trying 3 mindful resolutions for 2019 to help us #LiveConsciously - meditation, organization and exercise.

Meditation

Meditate: Being more mindful is something we should all try to achieve and meditation is a great place to start. We all know stress, everybody experiences it on a day-to-day basis and studies have shown most people don’t do much about it. But, meditating has been proven to reduce stress, improve concentration and lower blood pressure.Yes, like anything else, it requires some practice, but you can totally do it! There are plenty of apps out there to give you a helping hand - start with small periods (5 minutes or so) and work your way up!

Organization

Organize: A tidy house is a tidy mind (or so the saying goes!). Keeping things tidy in 2019 will not only make spring cleaning easier, but could also improve your focus. If you're the type that loves a new project but a full reorganization seems daunting, select small de-cluttering goals to get you started. Clearing out the closet, tackling the stack of files on our desks and emptying out the fridge (for a post-holiday season clear out) are some of the one's we're trying this January.

Exercise

Exercise: Many New Year's resolutions may revolve around losing weight, but this doesn't have to be the case with health resolutions. Consider our exercise resolution as one that can improve your health, wellness and attitude. Make exercise a part of your weekly (or daily) routine, and make it fun! Look for a new class to try or set a new goal for a sport you already love and stick with it.

We all like to try and set goals as the New Year begins, but if change is necessary and needed, don’t wait until a new year to do it. Something will always come up and life presents plenty of opportunity to hide behind excuses. Truthfully, there’s no better time to start than today. Here’s to a happy and healthy 2019!
